 Below are three tips you should follow to ensure pool safety.

1.       Keep your eyes open. It seems self-explanatory but it can easily be missed. Make sure you are keeping an eye on your kids around water. You want to make sure you are an arm’s length away from your small children to avoid accidents. Try to minimize distractions including cell phone, alcohol, or in-depth social conversations with friends and family.

2.       Teach your children how to swim. It’s fun and can become a lifesaving skill. You can enroll your children in swimming lessons at your local community center. Participating in formal swimming lessons is associated with a significant reduction in the risk of drowning in children.
